The Local Control Panel firmware update will update the boot code of the iLCP SKU's. ============================================================================= DEPENDENCIES ============================================================================= - Executes under the DOS Shell. - Use to update iLCP's with firmware version 0.66 or later ============================================================================= SUPPORTED PLATFORMS ============================================================================= Intel(R) Server platforms: SR4850HW4, SR6850HW4, SR4850HW4M and SR6850HW4M SE7520JR2 SE7520BD2 SE7520AL2 ============================================================================= IMPORTANT INSTALLATION NOTES ============================================================================= - The following files are necessary to update the iLCP firmware: RUN.bat - Batch file used to update the iLCP firmware FWPIAUpd.exe - DOS utility to program firmware hex file into the flash device LCP74.hex - LCP Firmware hex file Executing the fwpiaupd utility with your own command switches if unsupported and may leave your LCP in a non-operational state! Please use the provided batch file to update the firmware. ============================================================================= INSTALLATION PROCEDURE ============================================================================= 1. Boot system to a DOS-bootable keyfob that has the firmware update files on it. 2. Launch the RUN.BAT file to update the iLCP firmware. 3. When update is complete, the iLPC will be ready to use, no need to power cycle system. ============================================================================= NEW FEATURES ADDED WITH VERSION 0.74 ============================================================================= -Hourglass icon will appear when iLPC is getting information from the BMC. -User definable "Favorites" menu item. Select a sensor such as analog fan1 and then touch the "enter" button on it. This will select the item to be put into the favorites list; you can see it is selected by the sensor title reversing colors. Select Save listed at the end of the Sensors menu and then the item is saved into the favorites list. -After making any edits to the Favorites list, always be sure to select Save to ensure the changes will be saved. -A new Default Sensors menu that will contain the sensor types of Temperatures, Fans, Processors, Power Supply, Power Unit, and Memory sensors for easy access to these important sensors. -User definable "Sensors" type and "Entity" type filters. You can filter by holding the Enter button on any item that has a circle in front of it. The type will display a filled in circle icon when it is selected for filtering. Make sure to select Save option to save the filter to memory. Any type that does not display a circle in front of it is not available to be filtered. -English is now the only supported language. ============================================================================= ISSUES FIXED IN THIS RELEASE ============================================================================= -Sensors not displaying properly under the Sensors menu. The Sensors menu has been enhanced to display a Default list of the standard important sensors and the user can now select the sensors that they are primarily interested in and keep them in a Favorites menu. Also the user can sort the sensors and entities by type, which allows for full sensor range to be viewed. -FRU asset tag is displaying correct information. -LAN discovery only occurs when LAN channel is selected. ============================================================================= KNOWN ISSUES/WORKAROUNDS ============================================================================= -When going through the Entity type list, the down arrow will continue to display on the screen when you are at the bottom of the list. This issue should be fixed in the next revision of the iLCP firmware. (end of release notes)
