Please run "FBB 2" to update BIOS**** 1. Decompress BIOS.ZIP file contents to a bootable 1.44MB floppy diskette, or some other a bootable storage such as USB DISK-ON-KEY. 2. Boot the system and press to run BIOS Setup Utility. 3. For reference write down the current custom changes to any default settings in the BIOS Setup program. CMOS settings will be preserved across BIOS updates, but you may wish to use the "Save Custom Defaults" option on the Exit tab to restore defaults later. 4. Press to exit BIOS Setup. 5. Place the bootable floppy containing the new BIOS into drive A: or other bootable storage device into USB port of the system, and boot to pure DOS mode. (non-HIMEM environment) NOTICE: If you are updating from any BIOS revision prior to P.07, it is important to follow the Boot Block update instructions below. 6. Run FBB.BAT and it will prompt for the following two options. "FBB 1": Update Main BIOS - Updates system ROM only, but Boot Block does not change. "FBB 2": Update Main BIOS & Boot Block - Updates both system ROM and Boot Block. **NOTE** : If selecting option (2.) for Boot Block update, jumper J1D1 'BIOS FLASH WP' should be set to pins 2-3 to enable Boot Block write. If you want to manually protect the Boot Block, Jumper J1D1 'BIOS FLASH WP' should be set to pins 1-2 once the update is complete. Otherwise, simply restore jumper to original position. JUMPER BLOCK J1D1 LOCATIONS: +------------------------------------------------------------------+ | CMOS CLR PSWD CLR BIOS FLASH WP RVCR BOOT | | Jumper Pins -> O O O O O O O O O O O O | | Jumper # -> 1 2 3 1 2 3 1 2 3 1 2 3 | +------------------------------------------------------------------+ 7. When BIOS flash update is complete, it will display a message that all writing and verification of flash is done. Next, power cycle the system. 8. If for any reason the FLASH process fails, please follow the BIOS Recovery Instructions at the end of this document to recover the system BIOS. 9. Press to enter BIOS Setup, and verify the custom values you wrote down in step 3 have been preserved. If you used the "Save Custom Defaults" option, you can now "Load Custom Defaults". Press to save the values and exit Setup. NOTE: If after a BIOS update you encounter a CMOS checksum error. Reboot system and press to enter BIOS Setup utility. Check your settings, then save and exit Setup. ============================================================================= KNOWN ISSUES/WORKAROUNDS ============================================================================= Build 0029: - P03 - System will hang when USB hot plug in the legacy mode.
