Please consult the Product Guide and help file as well as any readme files contained within the associated software subdirectories for device drivers and applications included on this CD. These files include additional installation instructions and/or release notes. System Requirements ====================== Software on the CD should be installed only on Intel server boards with any of the following operating systems: - Microsoft* Windows* XP with Service Pack 1 (Professional and Home Edition). - Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server - Microsoft Windows 2003 Server NOTE: Installation on a Microsoft Windows XP, Windows 2000, or Windows 2003 server system requires that the user either be logged in as an Administrator or have Administrator privileges. NOTE: If your system has other applications running that could prevent a system reboot, please close those applications before starting an installation to protect yourself from loss of any unsaved data. NOTE: If the installation of any drivers will require a reboot, make sure the system's CD boot priority is set lower than the hard drive's boot priority prior to installing the drivers from Express Installer. **************************************************************** 3. Known Issues with Intel(R) Express Installer =============================================== The following known issues are listed with the installer portion of the Intel Express Installer CD: - The Express Installer driver Installation Progress window does not pop up on top of other windows (e.g. Windows Explorer) on the screen. As a result, it may not obvious to the user if the installation is progressing. - The Express Installer Documents window does not refresh cleanly. If the EI window is moved or if another window covers it, portions or all of the Documents window may go blank. - Since this resource CD is bootable (boots to ROMDOS), if the system’s CD boot priority is set higher than the hard drive, the CD will boot into ROMDOS during the driver installation\reboot process. - On Windows 2003, a Security Alert window pops up when the CD is first inserted. The user is prompted: Do you still want to install this driver software? If the user fails to respond in a timely manner, an internal and unknown error may occur **************************************************************** 4. System Configuration Notes and CD Directory Structure ======================================================== Viewing PDF Files ----------------- Adobe* Acrobat* Reader must be installed to view any PDF files on this CD.
