Download and extract the irflash utility for your Operating system to a local drive. 2. Download and extract the firmware file to a local drive. 3. Boot the target system to the target OS or EFI shell. For the purposes of this instruction, DOS will be assumed. Consult the readme file for the version of irflash you have chosen to use. 4. Change directory to the local drive and directory containing both the irflash utility and the firmware image file. 5. Type "irflash /p" 6. When prompted for the name of the firmware binary file enter the name of the file (713S.rom) and press enter. 7. When prompted, confirm the update. Help can be obtained with the command "irflash /?" Multiple controllers installed in the same system can be updated one after the other by following the prompts that are presented. ============= Fixes/Updates ============= 713N - Incorporated BIOS look and feel changes. 713Q - I2C command timeout cause BSOD and an "MRAID" device timout in the system event log. Two commands (one via IOCTL) were going to the SAF-TE on the i2c bus resulting in an i2c bus hang. If the DCDB to the SAFTE with timeout value greater than "I2C_TIMEOUT_BIG_DEFAULT", then I2C_TIMEOUT_BIG_DEFAULT timeout value is used. 713R - Fixes and updates: 1. Fixed the cache line reassignment for XOR of RMW(WB) operation. 2. Fixed Bluescreen and/or Controller hang when Patrol Read finds a media error on Raid 5 in a second span under certain caching configurations. 3. Fixed Controller hang when command ID was used previously as "LOCAL COMMAND" and reused by normal cmdType. 4. Fixed issue with timer function, Declared num_timer_reqs as volatile. 5.
