Extract package contents to a user specified location such as = a:\ 1. New Novell* NetWare* 5.1 SP7 System Driver Installation Follow the instructions in the Novell* NetWare* Installation Guide to install NetWare* 5.1 SP7 on the server. Follow these steps to install Novell* NetWare* using the controller as a primary adapter: 1) Boot with the NetWare* 5.1 SP7 CD-ROM. 2) Follow the instructions on the screen to select the language and accept the license. 3) Highlight Default using the arrow keys, then press to change the option to Manual. 4) Highlight Continue and press . The screen used to prepare the boot partition displays. 5) Highlight Free Space, then press . 6) Accept the default (500 MB) or modify as desired, then press . 7) Highlight Continue, then press . The Server Settings screen displays. You can modify the settings before going to the next screen. 8) Highlight Continue, then press . The system goes through device driver detection, then the screen displays the device type and driver name. You can modify the device type and driver name. 9) Press Continue, then press . The driver names display. Note: NW5.1 OS Installer is unable to see the on-board ICH5R SATA controller. 10) Select Storage adapters using the arrow keys and press . 11) Highlight IDEATA.HAM Generic ATA/IDE/ATAPI Adapter Controller in the list of files. 12) Press to remove the highlighted filename. Note: The Ideata.ham driver on NW5.1 SP7 does not work with the on-board CD-ROM drive. So, please install IDEATA driver using the Ideata.ham on the driver disk. 13) Press to add a driver. 14) Press again. 15) If you have the driver on a diskette, insert it in the A:/ drive. The install program automatically searches for the driver on the A:/ drive. 16) If you do not have the driver on a diskette, enter the path for the file. 17) Press . The Standard ATA/IDE/ATAPI Adapter Controller and Intel RAID controller will display. 18) Select insert Standard ATA/IDE/ATAPI Adapter driver and config the driver using system default parameters. 19) Select insert Intel Embedded RAID controller driver. The install program prompts the user for the Slot No when the storage driver ˇ°Megaride.hamˇ± is installed from a floppy drive or some other location. Note: The slot no is found by loading the driver on the system console (for instance, if the driver is being loaded from the floppy drive, press Alt+ESC to system console and type load a:\megaride.ham to get the slot no at the system console) and then choose "No Selection", to avoid loading the driver. Then enter the slot number in the prompt and the megaride driver loads successfully. 20) Press twice. 21) Select Continue and press . The storage devices and driver names display so you can match the drivers to the hardware devices. 22) Select Continue and press . 23) Select Continue and press again. The message ˇ°Loading driverˇ± displays, then the screen Create Sys Volume displays. 24) Select Create and press . The Main Menu displays. 25) Select Continue Installation and press . The File Copy Status displays to confirm that the driver files are installed, then a GUI prompt displays. 26) Select Customized and press . 27) Continue the normal operating system installation. 2. New Novell* NetWare* 6.5 System Driver Installation Follow the instructions in the Novell* NetWare* Installation Guide to install NetWare* 6.5 on the server. The Intel Embedded RAID controller displays. There is one driver per controller to remove or add. 18) Press twice. 19) Select Continue and press . The storage devices and driver names display so you can match the drivers to the hardware devices. 20) Select Continue and press . 21) Select Continue and press again. The message ˇ°Loading driverˇ± displays, then the screen Create Sys Volume displays. 22) Select Create and press . The Main Menu displays. 23) Select Continue Installation and press . The File Copy Status displays to confirm that the driver files are installed, then a GUI prompt displays. 24) Select Customized and press . 25) Continue the normal operating system installation. 3. Existing Novell* NetWare* System Driver Installation Follow these steps to add the NetWare driver to an existing installation. 1) For NetWare* 5.1 and higher, type the following at the root prompt: nwconfig 2) Press . 3) The Configuration Options screen displays. 4) Select Drive Options and press . A window displays. 5) Select Configure Disk and Storage Device Options and press . 6) Select one of the following options that display in the window: * Discover and Load an Additional Driver * Select an Additional Driver 7) If you select Discover and Load an Additional Driver, the system discovers the extra unit and prompts you to select a driver from the list. 8) Press to insert the driver. This completes the procedure. If you choose Select an Additional Driver, the Select a Driver screen displays. Perform the following steps. 1) Press , then read and follow the instructions that appear. 2) Insert a diskette into the A:/ drive and press .
