Intel® 945GCNL
Motherboard doesn’t contain Intel®
Platform Administration Technology Agent. You need manually update its BIOS and
make it contain Intel® Platform Administration Technology Agent.
Scenario 1: If your
Intel® 945GCNL Motherboard has been installed Windows OS, you could use the
following process:
1.
Run
the BIOS update file which postfix is EXE,
such as NL0001.EXE (The filename may
be different due to BIOS version). This file is on the Intel® Platform
Administration Technology V3.1.5 official web site.
2.
Click
Next to
continue.
3.
Click
Finish to complete the BIOS update
in OS status.
4.
Client
will automatically reboot and upgrade the BIOS and agent to V3.1.5.
5.
Reboot
the Client and Press F2 to enter
BIOS Configuration UI. Set Power >
“Wake on LAN from S5” to “Power On”
and enable Boot > “Boot to Network”. Press F10 to save and exit.
6.
Connect
client and Intel® PAT V3.1.5 server in the same LAN. Reboot the Client and
press F3 to enter Intel® PAT Agent
Management Menu. Enable and configure Intel® PAT Agent. Press F10 to save and exit.
Scenario 2: If your
Intel® 945GCNL Motherboard is not installed any OS, you could use the following
process:
1.
Create
a DOS startup USB disk, and find the file named autoexec.bat.
2.
Find
the two files in Intel® Platform Administration Technology V3.1.5 official web
site and copy them in the same folder as the file named autoexec.bat.

IFLASH.EXE
l
The
BIOS update file which postfix is CVT,
such as NL0001.CVT.
3.
Open
autoexec.bat and type the following
command at the end of the file, then press Save.
(The CVT filename may be different
due to BIOS version.)
l
iflash /pf nl0001.cvt
4.
Restart
the client from DOS Startup USB disk and the update progress shows.
5.
After
the update is complete, the BIOS and agent are updated to V3.1.5
6.
Reboot
the Client and Press F2 to enter
BIOS Configuration UI. Set Power >
“Wake on LAN from S5” to “Power On”and enable Boot > “Boot to Network”. Press F10 to save and exit.
7.
Connect
client and Intel® PAT V3.1.5 server in the same LAN. Reboot the Client and
press F3 to enter Intel® PAT Agent
Management Menu. Enable and configure Intel® PAT Agent. Press F10 to save and exit.
Caution:
l
If
you use the file NL0001.EXE to
update BIOS, please ensure that you log on as Administrator. Or else, the
upgrade may fail.
l
If
you use the file NL0001.CVT to
update BIOS and you can’t find the file autoexec.bat in your DOS Startup USB
disk, please manually input the command in DOS command line (The CVT filename may be different due to
BIOS version): iflash /pf nl0001.cvt after the machine boots
from USB disk. Then the update progress shows. After the update is complete,
the BIOS and agent are updated to V3.1.5.
