Utilities including Selview, PTC and etc Documentations Customer Support Contact Information ================================================================================ NEW in THIS RELEASE ================================================================================ New features in this release - Simplified RAID Configuration - Support Windows* server 2008 unattended OS installation - Support Windows* VISTA unattended OS installation ( only available on Intel workstation platfrom) ================================================================================ SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS ================================================================================ Intel(R)Deployment Assistant 2.5.3 hardware minimum requirements: - 256 MB RAM, (512 MB preferred) - Mouse and Keyboard - CD-ROM drive or USB key - Monitor resolution of at least 1024x768 - Hard drive required only for unattended OS installations. Suggested size for OS partition of at least 6GB. Drive must be on Intel's Tested Hardware List (THOL). - To download drivers or firmware from the Intel support site, the server has to be connected to the Internet with only one network port from the server connected. ================================================================================ Considerations and Known Issues ================================================================================ - IDA fail to install Windows* 2008 on a server system if IDA boot server from a SATA DVD-ROM and SATA RAID or SATA AHCI mode is enabled. Workaround is that boot IDA from a USB DVD-ROM. - When use IDA unattended OS installation of Red Hat* Enterprise Linux server 5, the setup may stop proceeding at the driver selection page. User need to select a driver manually. - IDA2.5.3 may fail to install Red Hat* Enterprise Linux Server 5 update 1 on SATA Embedded RAID (ESRT2). - Red Hat* Enterprise Linux Server 5 unattended OS installation fails on disk which capacity is larger than 500GB - Due to SuSE* Linux Enterprise Server 10 problem, IDA unattended OS installation for it doesn't support more than three partitions - The SuSE* Linux Enterprise Server 9 SP3 CD1 must be in the drive at reboot after launching the unattended OS install. Even if the OS is not installed on the first available hard disk (3rd drive on the GUI list), the boot loader will be on the first drive, so boot must occur from that drive. - Windows* OS should only be installed on drives listed in the Tested Hardware list. - Using a 'profile' to restore or clone a server will request a BIOS password even for BMC settings. - IDA RAID Configuration function doesn't support to serup Legacy/Matrix/3rd party RAID device. - IDA RIAD Configuration function only supports one global Hot Spare disk even some RAID controller supports multiple Hot Spare disk. - IDA unattended OS installation doesn't support Intel(R) Matrix RAID - IDA supports that boot a server from USB key, but IDA OS present features can't work from USB key because USB key EXT2 file system can't recognize by Windows* OS ================================================================================ Legal Information ================================================================================ This document, as well as the software described in it is furnished under license and may only be used or copied in accordance with the terms of the license.
