OVERVIEW ************************************************************ The RAID Configuration utility is an executable supported for MS-DOS* and Microsoft* Windows* with capabilities similar to the Intel(R) Matrix Storage Manager option ROM. It provides customers with the ability to create, delete, and manage any RAID volumes on a system from within DOS or Windows environment. For ease of use, the utility has command line parameters that make it possible to perform these functions through the use of DOS scripts or shell commands. ************************************************************ * 2. The system must contain an Intel(R) Pentium(R) Processor and one of the following Intel products: - Intel(R) ICH9R I/O Controller Hub 2. ENTERING THE CONFIGURATION UTILITY USER INTERFACE ************************************************************ 3.1 RaidCfg executable for MS-DOS* 1. Boot the system to DOS. 2. To enter the User Interface, run Raidcfg.exe with no command line parameters. 3. For commandline mode, run Raidcfg.exe with appropriate command line parameters. 3.2. RaidCfg32 executable for Microsoft* Windows* Use the following steps to run Raidcfg32: 1. Boot the system to Windows. 2. Run Raidcfg32.exe with appropriate command line parameters. ************************************************************ * 4. Displays Help Screen. Other options ignored. /Y Suppress any user input. Used with options /C, /D, /X, & /F. /Q Quiet mode / No output. Should not be used with status commands. COMMANDS - Only one at a time. /C Create a volume with the specified name. /S, /DS, /SS, & /L can be specified along with /C. /SS Specify strip size in KB. Only valid with /C /L Specify RAID Level (0, 1, 10, or 5). Only valid with /C /S Specify volume size in GB or percentage if a '%' is appended. Percentage must be between 1-100. Only valid with /C /DS Selects the disks to be used in the creation of volume. List should be delimited by spaces. /D Delete Volume with specified name. /X Remove all metadata from all disks. Use with /DS to delete metadata from selected disks. /I Display All Drive/Volume/Array Information. /P can be specified. /P Pause display between sections. Only valid with /I. /U Do not delete the partition table. Only valid with /C. /OR Run the status/UI same as the OROM. /ST Display Volume/RAID/Disk Status. /CS Captures the screen to file from screen buffer. Only valid with /ST /F Repair failed RAID0 Volume. /CnG Create a recovery volume. Only valid with /C. /Sync Set the sync type for the the recovery volume. Default is auto.
