System BIOS Recovery Instructions 1. Power OFF the system. 2. Insert recovery media. BIOS recovery requires a bootable SATA Optical Drive or USB flash drive. USB Floppy drives are not supported. Ensure the following files are in the root directory: FVMAIN.FV (UEFI recovery operating environment image file) iFLASH32.EFI (UEFI flash update utility 2.6 Build 10 or later) *REC.CAP (BIOS Capsule file, where * represents the BIOS version) STARTUP.NSH (script file that automatically runs) Edit the startup.nsh file to point to the correct recovery file. 3. Move the BIOS Recovery jumper on the server board from its default (Pins 1-2) position to BIOS recovery (Pins 2-3). Details regarding the jumper ID and location can be obtained from the Technical Product Specification (TPS) for the given platform. 4. Power ON the system. 5. The system will boots to the EFI SHELL and execute startup.nsh file 6. Wait for the message "BIOS has been updated successfully" 7. Power OFF the system 8 . Return the BIOS Recovery jumper to its default position (Pins 1-2). 9. Power ON the system. 10. Allow the system to POST once without interruption
