Suggested size for OS partition of at least 6GB. Drive must be on Intel's Tested Hardware List (THOL). - To download drivers or firmware from the Intel support site, the server has to be connected to the Internet with only one network port from the server connected. ================================================================================ Considerations and Known Issues ================================================================================ - IDA cannot assign "root" as BMC account name as "root" is reserved by iBMC. - When using IDA setup BMC email alert, the email subject and content cannot contain words or phrases such as ¡°error¡±, ¡°mismatch¡±, ¡°no a valid¡±, ¡°an invalid user ID¡± Those words or phrases may cause IDA fail to detect BMC configuration. - IDA only supports enable BMC email alert on BMC Channel Alert Destination 1. - IDA cannot create a RIAD 5 if its volume size is large than 1TB - When using IDA to unattended install OS to Intel(R) RAID Controller SASMF8I, system may report error message "Controller is not ready for configuration, please try it later". This issue only happens after user used IDA RAID configuration to overwrite an existing RAID 5 on this RAID controller. Clearing existing configuration on this RAID controller via RAID BIOS console before starting to use this controller can avoid this defect. - When IDA unattended installation of Windows* Server 2008 happens, if IDA boot server from a SATA CD-ROM and SATA RAID or SATA AHCI mode is enabled, Windows* Server 2008 may report error message "unable to find CD-ROM". Workaround is to boot IDA from an USB CD-ROM. - When use IDA unattended OS installation of Red Hat* Enterprise Linux* server 5, the setup may stop proceeding at the driver selection page. User need to select a driver manually. - IDA RAID Configuration function only supports one global Hot Spare disk although some RAID controller support multiple Hot Spare disks. - Red Hat* Enterprise Linux* Server 5 unattended OS installation fails if disk capacity is larger than 500GB - Due to SuSE* Linux Enterprise Server 10 problem, IDA unattended OS installation does not support more than three partitions - IDA supports booting a server from USB key, but current features of IDA OS cannot work from USB key because USB key EXT2 file system cannot be recognized by Windows* OS - IDA patch update can create new IDA version on a USB key and boot server with this USB key, but if user boots server to IDA with a USB key, IDA cannot create a new version of the same USB key with IDA patch update function. ================================================================================ Legal Information ================================================================================ This document, as well as the software described in it is furnished under license and may only be used or copied in accordance with the terms of the license.
