Populating processors in a four-way board
For optimal performance, populate CPU slots 1 and 3. The other processor sockets are automatically terminated by the integrated termination, provided by the processor board.
Thermal blanks must be installed in the empty processor sockets to ensure proper cooling. If both sockets on one side of the processor board are empty, no thermal blanks are needed on that side of the board.
When installing more than one processor, all processors must be within one stepping of each other, with identical core voltages, cache sizes and bus/core speeds.
+48 V processor power pods must be used.
