EFI System Update Package (SUP) Installation and Operation Instructions ntel(R) Server Board S1400xx, S1600xx, S2400xx, S2600xx, W2600xx, & S4600xx customers V1 & V2 Firmware Update Package Update Instructions Released - March 28, 2018 ******************************************************************************* This update package includes the following system software updates: System BIOS - 02.06.E006 ME Firmware - 02.01.07.328 BMC Firmware - 01.28.10603 FRUSDR - (Platform Dependent) Important NOTES: - All the updates provided in this package are EFI based (unless otherwise noted).To run these updates, you must boot the system to the embedded EFI shell and then access the USB flash drive or hard disk containing the system software updates. ************************************************************************************* SYSTEM HARDWARE and SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS ************************************************************************************* The contents of this update package is used to update the System Firmware for the following Intel Server Products only: - Production level Intel(R) Server Board V1 & V2 generation The utilities used to update the System Firmware are: - Iflash32 11.0 build 11 - FWPIAUPD 11.0 build 9 - FRUSDR 11.0 build 19 ************************************************************************************* Standard Update Procedure from the embedded EFI Shell ************************************************************************************* - Unzip the contents of the update package and copy all files to a ROOT of a USB flash drive - Insert the USB flash drive to any available USB port on the server system to be updated - Server should boot to the EFI shell. If Auto EFI Boot does not occur, you can accessed via the BIOS setup utility during POST. and Run the command "map -r" in the EFI shell to mount a USB flash drive formatted to use the FAT32 file system Run the command "fs0:" to change folders to the USB flash drive. The USB flash drive may also mount to fs1: depending on other installed devices. The number of "fs#" is dependent on the result of command "map -r" - Run the command "Startup.nsh" to start updating all the firmware and BIOS updates Warning: !!Do NOT reboot or remove power from your system during the update process. Doing so may render your system inoperable. !! ----- Verifying updates - Reboot the system - During POST, hit the Key when prompted to access the BIOS Setup Utility - Hit the F9 key to load BIOS Defaults - At the MAIN menu verify the BIOS revision is correct - Move cursor to the SERVER MANAGEMENT Menu - Move cursor down to the SYSTEM INFORMATION Option and hit Enter - Verify the BMC Firmware revision is correct - Verify the SDR revision is correct - Verify the ME Firmware revision is correct - Hit the F10 Key to save changes and Exit The System Software Update is Complete. ============================================================================= LEGAL INFORMATION ============================================================================= Information in this document is provided in connection with Intel products.
