Note: The boot to DOS must be non-HIMEM management environment. Known Issues/Workarounds · Microsoft* NT 4.0 can be installed successfully. But there exists some issue that sometimes system will hang at reboot point during installation. If system hangs at reboot point, user can continue to install it by restarting system. Issues fixed since last release. · This BIOS release 1.28 is based on 1.27. · Defect# 503– System stop at Adaptec* RAID 2200S option ROM scanning. · Defect# 503BIOS default after an automatic power off and saving changes. · Add the D-1 stepping of CPU (CPUID = 0F29). PHLASH.EXE - Programs the flash ROM. BIOS.ROM - Actual BIOS image to be programmed into flash ROM. MINIDOS.SYS - Allows the system to boot in crisis recovery mode. MAKEBOOT.EXE - Creates the custom boot sector on the crisis recovery diskette. WINCRIS.EXE - Creates the crisis recovery disk under Windows* operating system. WINCRIS.HLP - Help file for WINCRIS.EXE · Under DOS environment: o Boot the system to pure DOS mode. o Insert a clean diskette into drive A: o From the local directory, enter the following: C:\PHLASH> CRISDISK.BAT o The CRISDISK.BAT formats the diskette, then copies MINIDOS.SYS, PHLASH.EXE, PLATFORM.BIN and BIOS.ROM to the diskette, and creates the required custom boot sector. Set diskette as "Write protect" and label it as "the Crisis Recovery Diskette". · Under Windows* operating system environment: o Boot to Windows*. o Execute C:\PHLASH>WINCRIS.EXE Note: Does not build recovery diskette by CRISDISK.bat from DOS prompt under Windows* operating system. It will result in failure recovery diskette. · Please follow the steps to force to execute BIOS recovery. · Auto recovery: o If ROM checksum is error during POST, do BIOS recovery. · User Recovery: o Power off system. o Plug jumper to motherboard J106 pin 3-4. o Insert recovery diskette to floppy o Power on system. o System will beep during recovery. o After no beep, the recovery is OK. o Power off system o Remove jumper from motherboard J106 pin 3-4.
