This download supports SCSI versions of Intel(R) Server RAID Controllers using 2MB and 4MB flash parts and requires a companion diskette containing a 2MB.exe or 4MB.exe file.

Attention!

This package will create a floppy diskette that contains the Firmware Recovery Utility (FRU) and for use with Intel® Server RAID Controllers.
The package will extract a copy the firmware recovery utility to a Bootable floppy diskette.  
The Firmware code is not incorporated in this tool and requires a companion file using version 2.34.07-R057 firmware that is in a 2meg.exe or 4meg.exe compressed format.
This tool is only intended to be used in the unlikely event that a controllers firmware becomes corrupted.  

For normal firmware updates please use the Raid Storage Console Utility.

You must move the recovery jumper on your controller to the recovery position in order to apply this update.
This utility is not for use on the Intel(R) Server RAID Controller SRCU32, The SRCU32 does not have a recovery jumper and can not be used with this update, apply firmware to the SRCU32 using StorCon 2.10 or later.

Using This Tool
================
The Flash Recovery Utility (FRU) is only intended to be used to recover the controllers firmware in the
unlikely that the firmware is corrupted, and is intended to be used with a companion 2meg.exe or 4meg.exe compressed FW image file. 

For normal updates of the firmware, simply download the latest firmware to a floppy diskette and 
update the firmware using the RAID Storage Console

To perform an update using the firmware recovery process, complete the following steps:
1. Download the FRU utility and extract it to a floppy diskette.
2. Download the 2Meg or 4meg firmware image and extract to a floppy diskette.
3. Remove power (unplug the power cords) from the target system, move the recovery jumper on the RAID controller from the "normal" position to the "recovery" position, and install in the target system.
4. Re-apply power and boot the target system to the FRU disk mentioned in step 1.
5. The system will extract files to a RAM drive, a menu will be presented that lists the installed raid card and they type of firmware file needed (2mb or 4mb).
6. Insert the 2mb or 4mb firmware diskette mentioned in step 2.
7. Press the number key associated with your RAID controller as displayed on the menu (usually the number 0 unless you have more than one RAID card installed).
8. The Firmware will be programmed into the RAID controller, when complete you will be prompted to exit.
9. Power down the target system and remove power (unplug the power cords).
10.Move the recovery jumper on the RAID controller back to the "normal" position.
11.Reinstall the RAID controller, re-apply power, and boot the system.
