This utility is not compatible with the SRCU21, SRCU31, SRCU31L, SRCMR, SRCZCR, SRCU32, SRCU42L, or SRCS14L RAID controllers. Attention! =========== This flash utility is an EFI based utility that allows you to manage the RAID controller and attached devices. Contents ========= The following files are included: Name DAte Size Description BioCon64.efi 03/29/04 213KB Utility EFIPARSER.efi 03/29/04 528KB utility License 07/02/03 13KB Licence efi_biosConsole_readme.txt 02/24/04 4KB This file EFI Webbios Components and How to use them Webbios Components ================== EFI Webbios consists of two components 1. EFIPARSER.EFI This is the Back-End browser module of the webbios tool. 2. BIOCON64.EFI This is an executable, which will run on EFI shell Version 1.1. Procedure 1. Make sure you have all the hardware setup and EFI1.1 or later installed and running. 2. Copy both the efi components into a hard-disk partition or mountable CD-DRive. 3. Boot the system to an EFI prompt, Type "load efiparser.efi" , you must use the load command. This will load the browser module as an EFI driver. 4. Type biocon64 This will invoke the BIOS Console utility. 5. Use Bios Console to create and manage logical drives. 6. You can exit out of biocon64 by clicking on the exit button or the exit link. You can again go back into webbios by following step 4 above. 7. you cannot unload EFIPARSER module. Limitations 1. Highlight selection – Since the EFI 1.1 shell does not export the CONTROL key, the browser assumes that the CONTROL Key is always being pressed. Because of this, the user needs to left click again to de-select any highlighted item like, channel, physical drive or logical drive, etc. Left Click toggles selection. 2. Screen transitions might seem to be slower than as seen in x86 versions. Please note that this is a shell application and not comparable to any embedded tool. However, we’re working to improve the speed. Known issues 1. Progress bar is currently left aligned. work is underway to align to the center. 2. During page transitions, progress bars will shoot to 100% and again come back to the actual value after a short while. Limitations 1. The HTML supported is static and not dynamic. Any operations that kick-in automatically will not be automatically updated by the browser. 2. When a large number of operations such as consistency check or initialization run concurrently on several logical drives, there is heavy overhead on the progress bar refresh process and so the mouse and keyboard responses will be very slow. Updates included in this release: ================================= BioCon64 Changes 1. Added DMA transfer support above the 4GB boundry. 2. Added Signaled events function pointer modifications. 3. Corrected HTML generator version read from the firmware. EfiParser Changes 1. New handshake mechanism is implemented for processing tool buttons. Button-pressed events are now signaled to biocon64 module. *Third-party trademarks are the property of their respective owners.
