Download and extract the irflash utility to a floppy diskette or CD-ROM. 2. Download and extract the firmware file to a floppy diskette or CD-ROM. 2. Boot the target system to the efi shell. 3. Insert the floppy diskette containing irflash utility created in step 1 into the floppy or CD drive. 4. Use the Map -r command to remap devices, it may be necessary to mount a file system to the device using the mount command. 5. Change to the mapped device for the device holding the files 6. Type "irflash /p" 7. If using floppies, change disks to the one with the firmware image. 8. When prompted for the name of the firmware binary file enter the name of the file (verdegen.rom) and press enter. 9. When prompted, confirm the update. Help can be obtained with the command "irflash /?" Multiple controllers installed in the same system can be updated one after the other by following the prompts that are presented. Component Features ================== These are the generic features of the flash utility. • Flashes the card with a valid rom image • Accepts command line parameters from the user. • If multiple valid image files are present, prompts the user to select one • Ignores any image files if specified by the user at command line.
