This utility is designed for use with the firmware update file which must be downloaded seperately. ================ Known Restrictions ================ This utility is not compatible with the SRCU21, SRCU31, SRCU31L, SRCMR, SRCZCR, SRCU32, SRCU42L, or SRCS14L RAID controllers. • The Utility has to be run from a true DOS environment – not from DOS prompt of Windows or alike OS. • Searches files in current directory only from where the program is loaded – it does not search subdirectories or in other directories. • If the system is reboot in the middle of flashing, configuration as well firmware may get corrupted. • For flashing with corrupted firmware Himem.sys should be loaded. • Utility may take longer time to flash with corrupted or no firmware. • No support for mode 0. Backup all data prior to the firmware update. 1. Download and extract the irflash utility to a floppy diskette. 2. Download and extract the firmware file to a floppy diskette. 2. Boot the target system to a DOS prompt. 3. Insert the floppy diskette containing irflash utility created in step 1 into the floppy drive. 4. Type "irflash /p" 5. When prompted for the name of the firmware binary file enter the name of the file (verdegen.rom, 413e.rom, or 713D.rom) and press enter. 6. When prompted, confirm the update. Help can be obtained with the command "irflash /?" Multiple controllers installed in the same system can be updated one after the other by following the prompts that are presented. ================ Component Features ================ 1.It’s a Command Line Interface 2.Supports silent flashing without user input. 3.Multiple adapters can be flashed one after another using the same utility. 4.It finds all images files from the current directory for flashing only for the controllers available in the system 5.Utility compares current version and the version in the file and then flash if /v option is used 6.Can be used to force flash some adapters with files given with /f option Allows flashing of the controller with corrupt or no firmware automatically detecting the current firmware state. 7.Allows flashing of adapter with corrupt firmware and an running boot block through boot block with /b option.
