Image files should be present in the current directory except for GUI mode and for /p and /f option. 2. Only maximum of 3 files can be specified in ignore(/i) and force(/f) file option. 3. Backup all data prior to the firmware update. 1. Download and extract the irflash utility to a floppy diskette or directory. 2. Download and extract the firmware file to a seperate floppy diskette or same directory. 3. Run the irflshw.exe program within Windows with "irflashw /p" command. 4. If the firmware image is on a diskette Insert the floppy diskette containing irflash utility created in step 1 into the floppy drive. 5. When prompted for the name of the firmware binary file enter the name of the file (verdegen.rom) and press enter. 6. When prompted, confirm the update. Help can be obtained with the command "irflash /?" Multiple controllers installed in the same system can be updated one after the other by following the prompts that are presented. ================ Component Features ================ a) Supports GUI and CLI (Command Line Interface) modes. b) Multiple instances of utility are not allowed c) Multiple adapters can be flashed one after another both in GUI and CLI modes. d) In CLI mode, image files are searched from the current directory, only for the controllers available in the system. In that case, if multiple valid image files found, users will be asked to choose one image file among the listed valid images. e) “Forced File Flashing” can be done with some adapters with files given with /f option in CLI mode. This means user can provide some image files by her and can force them to flash with matching controllers. f) “Don’t Check signature” checkbox is provided in the GUI mode to flash any image without checking the signature (i.e. without validating) of the image file. g) This utility provides an option to query all valid adapters present in the system and shows their information and then quit in CLI mode. ================ Known Bugs ================ N/A ================ Fixes/Updates ================ 1.
