ENSURE THAT THE HSC CONTAINS THE REQUIRED FIRMWARE REVISION LISTED BELOW BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH THE mBMC UPDATE. Required HSBP backplane firmware operational code revisions: SC1400/SC2400 SATA - 1.08 or higher SCSI - 1.06 or higher SC5300/SC5275E 6 Drive SATA - 1.08 or higher 4 Drive SCSI - 1.12 or higher 6 Drive SCSI - 1.12 or higher The following command can be used to check for the current version of HSC firmware. "fwpiaupd -i -dirhsc". Both the Op Code and Boot Block code versions will be displayed. It is the Op Code that is shown above for version comparison. 1. Get the latest BMC firmware revision from support.intel.com for your Intel(r) Server Board SE7320SP2 / SE7525GP2. 2. Insert a blank floppy diskette into drive A: 3. Extract files from MBC240.EXE to floppy diskette. 4. Boot server to the Resource CD which accompanies the server board. Note: If server does not boot to the CD-ROM, be sure that the CD-ROM drive is selected in the Boot Device Priority within the BIOS Setup program. To check this setting press F2 during POST to enter BIOS Setup program. Select the BOOT menu option, and Boot Device Priority sub-menu. Under the 1st boot device, press enter once and select CD-ROM DRIVE, and press enter. Press F10 and save settings. You will want to change this setting back once the update is complete. 5. Exit the Server Configuration Wizard. 6. Insert floppy diskette containing the latest BMC firmware. 7. Change current drive to A: by typing A: {press enter} 8. Type Run.BAT for begin the update process (Strike any key to continue) Note: The BMC update process will begin. Be sure to not making any changes to the server at this time. Power loss or rebooting the server can result in damage to the server board. Note: The BMC update will take about 2-3 minutes to complete. =============================================================================
