This SUP will downgrade your HSC version to HSC 0.10 and create SCSI nightmares for you!)*** BIOS Revision: P19-0057 (BIOS P19 Build 57) ============================================================================ IMPORTANT SUP INSTALLATION NOTES ============================================================================ (1) Boot your SE7501HG2 system to DOS using the Intel(R) Server Board SE7501HG2 Resource CD. (2) Install the SUP in the following order:BMC, FRU/SDR, HSC (if needed only), and BIOS. (3) You should boot to DOS using the Resource CD everytime you install/reinstall any component (i.e. BMC, FRU/SDR, HSC, or the BIOS). Type a:\setup. This will run the batch file, setup.bat, in the SUP. (4) Remember to follow all "on-screen" instructions. (5) Check the BMC release notes to see if your system requires a BMC "boot-block" update. Only when performing a BMC "boot-block" update the BMC Flash jumper, J1J1, needs to be moved from the default Protect Mode (Pins 1, 2) into the Unprotect mode (Pins 2, 3). In most upgrade cases (e.g. BMC 17 to BMC 19) this step will "not be required". (6) After the BMC Firmware is installed "power-off" the system by completely removing AC Power. (7) After approximately 1 minute power the system back up and let it boot to DOS using the Resource CD again. (8) Install the FRU/SDR. Please make sure you use the right chassis options (e.g. SC5200, SC5250-E, Other) (9) After the FRU/SDR update is installed completely it is recommended you "power-off" the system again by removing AC Power as before. (10) After appoximately 1 minute power the system back up and let it boot to DOS again using the Resource CD. ****You may choose to ignore powering off the system in step (7) after the FRU/SDR has been installed and instead proceed to the next component update, saving an extra boot. However, it is highly recommended bringing the system down completely after every component update and starting from a "known state" ***** (11) Install the HSC if required (first Primary then Secondary) otherwise simply skip this step and proceed to update the BIOS. (12) The BIOS update will run through two progress bars before it actually completes. The system will then try to reboot. "Power-off" the system again by removing AC Power. (13) Move the CMOS Clear Jumper (J1H1) from BMC Control (Pins 1,2) to Force Erase (Pins 2,3). Please remember tha CMOS must be cleared after any BIOS update. (14) Restart and choose F2/Setup and make appropriate user modifications (if any). Save settings using F10. (15) Power Off the system again by removing the AC Power Cord. (16) Move the CMOS Clear Jumper (J1H1) back from Pins 2,3 (CMOS Clear) to Pins 1,2 (BMC Control) (17) Restart the system by plugging the AC Power Cord again (18) Congratulations! You now have successfully upgraded your system using the SUP.
