Known Issues

Reference No:

Description

Build

Rotation

Many X applications still do not support RandR extension and that can cause problems. Some rotation issues are observed with KDE under SUSE* Linux* 9.3. Switching to GNOME solved these issues. DGA applications will not be rotated by its design limitation.

3006

ACPI Hotkey Failure

X server fails and exits when switching to the external display via ACPI Hotkey in some systems.

3005

Rotation Failure

A crash occurs when rotating display in certain circumstances.

3004

Resolution Switching

Resolution Switching using “CTRL+ALT Keys” is currently not functioning. 3D application may not render correctly when using resolution switching with “xrandr –s …”

3003

Rotation Delay

Rotation switch events can take up to 20 seconds to complete on a dual core system. Disabling dual core reduces this to half the wait time. This was due to an AGPGART problem.

3002

Video corruption

Video corrupt when running video game, Unreal* Tournament 2004 Demo.

3000

Suspend/Resume via ACPI

Suspending and resuming with ACPI in the current 2.6 kernels is unreliable in some configurations as the ACPI support is continuing to mature throughout this kernel. Some drivers have not yet been updated to support suspend/resume and therefore can cause problems.

3000

HDTV support

The TV configuration is completely determined by the Video BIOS and there are no configurations options within the driver to change this behavior.
