This Readme.txt contains information for installations of the above listed products in Windows ME and Windows 2K. This release was posted to specifically add functionality for the 3CCSH572BT PC Card under Windows Me and Windows 2000 but the attached Driver and INF will also work for the other listed products under ME and 2000 as well. The attached driver and INF will also work with Microsoft's latest Beta OS, Whistler. Operation under Whistler is unsupported. This file is divided into four sections: 1) Installation of your product under Windows Me. 2) Installation of your product under Windows 2000. 2) Updating your driver under Windows Me. 4) Updating your driver under Windows 2000. Installation under Windows Me 1) With Windows Me fully booted, insert your PC Card into an empty PCMCIA slot and follow the instructions as they appear. 2) When prompted to have Windows search for a driver, choose the option, "Specify the Location" of the Driver and click next. 3) In the next window click the box "Specify a location" and UNCHECK the box "Removable Media" 4) In the space provided below the "Specify a location" type in the location where you downloaded and extracted the driver files for this product and click on Next. 5) You may be prompted about this driver being digitally signed from Microsoft. Choose YES to continue the install. 6) Follow the remaining prompts to complete the installation. Installation under Windows 2000 1) With Windows 2000 fully booted, insert your PC Card into an empty PCMCIA slot and follow the instructions as they appear. 2) When prompted to have Windows search for a driver, choose the option, "Search for a Suitable driver..." and click next. 3) In the next window click the box "Specify a location" and UNCHECK any other boxes that may be chosen and then click Next. 4) In the space provided in the next window, type in the location where you downloaded and extracted the driver files for this product and click OK. 5) You may be prompted about this driver being digitally signed from Microsoft. Choose YES to continue the install. 6) Follow the remaining prompts to complete the installation. Updating the Driver under Windows Me. Follow these instructions if your card is already installed but not functioning properly. 1) Right click on the My Computer icon, scroll down and choose the Properties option. 2) Click the Device Manager tab to display your system's device properties. 3) Double click on Network Adapters to reveal your installed network adapter. This may already be displayed if the device is not functioning properly. 4) Double click on your network adapter and the properties window for that card will appear. 5) Click the Driver tab and then click the Update Driver button. 6) Follow steps 2-6 in the above section entitled Installation under Windows Me.
